Below are photos from the Dia de los Muertos shoot that I developed. As a Mexican-American student, I wanted to capture the importance and power of representation. I planned, designed and structured the photoshoot.
El Dia De Los Muertos is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives through food, alters and celebrations. Capturing the essence of this holiday means respecting its origins and embracing what it means to Mexican culture.

Create a photo shoot that respects and displays the essence of El Dia De Los Muertos while still being creative and personal to exhibit representation.
Ask
Plan the shoot with an all Mexican team and collectively add what the holiday means to us to demonstrate that we are a community that deserves to be heard and respected.
